African Champion, Anuoluwapo Opeyori has turned his attention to the All African Senior Badminton Championship, set to take place from February 10th to 16th, 2025, in Douala, Cameroon.

The two times Olympian told www.aclsports.com that the team is currently in camp preparing for the tournament.

He expressed confidence in his ability to defend his title in Cameroon.

“I always keep an open mind to everything. Hopefully, I’ll be able to win the singles event at the All African Senior Badminton Championship again.

“The year is just beginning, and being in camp for the Championship is a great start for us,” Opeyori said.

The African Games Champion also highlighted Georges Julien Paul of Mauritius as a strong opponent.

“He is a tough competitor, and we’ve played against each other many times. I always look forward to competing with him, as well as with other players,” he added.

Looking ahead to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, Opeyori urged the National Sports Commission to begin preparations for the next Games.

“They need to start now by identifying key performance indicators (KPIs) to harness the players’ potential and create an environment that will allow them to be truly productive.”
