It was another disappointing night in Europe for Super Eagles’ Ogu and Iwobi, as they were conspicously missing in action.

With Henry Onyekuru the only Nigerian to feature in the Champions League, expectations were that Nigeria will see better representation in UFEA’s second club competition.

However, Arsenal were held to a goalless draw by Red Star Belgrade at the Emirates, with Alex Iwobi noticeably missing again.

Iwobi was an unused substitute as the Gunners came from behind to defeat Swansea 2-1 in the Premier League at the weekend.

Arsenal, however, booked a place in the round of 32 with two games to spare thanks to Cologne’s 5-2 defeat of Bate Borisov.

Arsene Wenger’s side remain top on 10 points, five ahead of their closest challengers, Red Star.

It was the same story for defensive midfielder, John Ogu, who missed a second consecutive game for Hapoel Beer Sheva.

After missing Hapoel’s win at the weekend, Ogu watched from the bench as Hapoel were held to a 1-1 draw by FC FCSB.

Ogu’s compatriot at the club, Anthony Nwakaeme, however, was in action for the Israeli champions, but fired blanks, and picked up a booking.

Elsewhere, Alhassan Ibrahim was handed a cameo as Austria Wien reignited their Europa League campaign with a 4-1 win over 10-man Rijeka.

Alhassan, who has been placed on standby ahead of games against Algeria and Argentina, came on in the 90th minute, as a Dominik Prokop brace inspired the Austrians to their first win of the season in Europe.
