Nigerian Wrestlers Land in New York for Beat Event

The Nigeria Wrestling Team arrived in New York, United States of America for the ‘Beat The Streets Invitational’ wrestling event. The team’s arrival was confirmed by the President of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Daniel Igali to aclsports.com on Monday.

The team was led by Igali, the coach of the female team, Purity Akuh as well as Commonwealth Champions, Odunayo Adekuoroye (57kg) and Aminat Adeniyi (68kg).

According to Igali, eight time Africa champion, Blessing Oborududu will join the team on Wednesday morning.

He told aclsports.com that the girls will wrestle without pressure.

“After a wonderful performance at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, I want the girls to just have fun. I’ve told them to wrestle without pressure”.

“Blessing has not gotten her visa yet. She is at the embassy. Hopefully she will join us Wednesday morning”, he said

The one-day event which is scheduled to hold on May 17th, 2018 at the famous Times Square in New York City.
